Spring 2024 Semester

The Spring 2024 semester has started on January 26 and will conclude on May 10, spanning 15 weeks, including a one-week break during Easter week on March 29. We don’t accept any registration from March 1.

High Schooler/Adult Class

We also offer a class for high schoolers and adults interested in learning Korean. To register for the high school/adult class, please use this link. (February 29 is the final day for late registration.)

Tuition

Tuition for Spring 2024 semester will be $200 (1st student), $180 (2nd), $150 (3rd), and $120 (4th). You can pay cash at the school or make the check payable to New Life Korean School (write down your children’s name in memo section). Tuition for the adults is the same as young people.

Refund Policy

Please note that we can refund 50% of the tuition fees until the 4th week after the semester starts, but no refunds will be given from the 5th week onwards. This refund policy applies only in cases where it becomes difficult for the student to attend school due to changes in family circumstances or special circumstances of the student. Refunds may not be issued for dissatisfaction with the school’s academic operations or for non-compliance with student rules.

Mission Statement

New Life Korean School (or NLKS) educates young Korean people and Americans about Korean culture, history, language and more. Its goal is to help children and youths build positive identity as Koreans under the teachings of Jesus Christ. Further, NLKS attempts to promote Korean culture to Americans.

More specifically, we will do our best:

  1. To increase the understanding of Korean culture, history and language
  2. To build positive identity as Korean descendants through educating Korean culture and society
  3. To help become healthy citizens by establishing Korean identity in American society
  4. To promote Korean culture to Americans through engaging educational materials

Also, the followings are our promises:

  1. NLKS will work hard to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ in educating Korean culture and language for their healthy growth.
  2. NLKS will work hard to create safe learning environments.
  3. NLKS will work hard for transparent and fair school administration for all members of the school community.
  4. NLKS will work hard to develop and use diverse teaching materials for students’ continuing development.
  5. NLKS will keep supporting teachers for their effective education.
  6. NLKS will communicate with parents or guardians as much as possible

Code of Conduct

We ask all students and parents (or guardians) to follow the rules for a safe learning environment at New Life Korean School.

For students,

  1. Try to speak Korean as much as possible while in school.
  2. Try not to be late or absent for classes.
  3. Do you best to complete assignments on your own.
  4. Respect your teachers.
  5. Do not eat in class.
  6. Do not bring any toys or games and use mobile phones while in school.
  7. Get teachers’ permission when you have to leave classes.
  8. Do not disrupt the class and
  9. Respect other students and behave safe.
  10. Do not damage school property.

When students violate the above rules and disrupt classes or other school activities, there will be warning(s) from teachers, followed by meeting with the principal (or vice principal), and parents-teacher meeting. When the principal considers the issues as very serious, he/she can be suspended from the school.

For parents,

  1. Help your students do assigned homework and bring class materials when requested.
  2. We may teach God’s Words and hymns at NLKS.
  3. Let teachers know in advance when your student(s) are late or absent.
  4. Make sure your students come to class on time and pick them up right after school.
  5. Guide your children so they do not run around the parking lot for their safety.
  6. Toys and games are not allowed at school.
  7. You may be financially responsible for school property if your children intentionally damage it.
  8. In case of issues with other students and/or teachers, we will work out through positive conversations for the benefit of all parties involved.
  9. Please motivate your children at home so that they are motivated to learn Korean and Korean culture.
  10. We welcome any feedback and comments for the continuing growth of NLKS.
